What SIZE is the finished Lion?

The finished Larry Lion toy is 29cm (11 inches) tall  – from table to top of mane!

 

And he’s 25cm (9½ inches) wide!

Difficulty Level:

No need to worry about complicated arm or leg joints  – Larry Lion sits up on his own  – because the legs are “joined to the body”. I would say that the Lion toy pattern is an MEDIUM pattern. Some people sewing Larry for the first time found the paws hard because they needed a lot of pins BUT they enjoyed sewing Larry Lion…

What fabric should I use/not use for a lion toy?

You can sew Larry Lion in fleece, of any type, and other stretch fabrics eg. velour, chenille and flannelette. Larry can be made from non-stretch fabrics like quilting cottons – he may just get a few puckers around his snout! You don’t need to use brown fabric for sewing the Lion Toy Pattern – as you will see from the feedback photos below…
