Jul 29, 2024 | Blog, Competitions & Giveaways

We had LOTS of really cute feedback pics this month. Read down to the end of the post to find out who won!

Let’s take a look…

We start off this month with LOTS of BRIGHT toys!

This tri-colour trio of Timmy T-Rex Dinosaurs was sewn by Teri Wolff. They’re a great pack of primary color prehistoric plush.

This super Stu Sea Turtle was sewn by Ben Darby. This Stu is bright and cheerful with solid fabrics perfectly matching the plaid turtle shell.

Seems like everyone has a friend who loves chickens, and that makes Cheeky Chook a great gift. Joy Davies sewed this cute Cheeky Chook (Chicken) in chicken fabric!

Winsome Wolf looks great in all sorts of fabric: quilting cotton, fleece, denim, and minky–like this one! Courtney Schreiner of Monkey in the Mailbox sewed this beautiful blue Winsome Wolf

Next, some pretty Plaid Toys!

Look how cute this Harmony Highland Cow looks in plaid! This cute cow was sewn by Jonell Hart. It’s a wonderful non-bear keepsake toy made from a plaid jacket.

I love the combination of polka dot fabrics that Teri Wolff used for this pair of Dynamite Donkeys. They look ready to gallop off for a good time!

Karen Boswell sewed this pretty Patch Cat from a little girl’s dress. Pastel unicorns and rainbows are a perfect compliment for this pattern. Read the cute story Karen included.

This gorgeous Larry LION was sewn by a keepsake maker out of baby clothes. Unfortunately I can’t add a link to refer you to her business because she is not crediting Funky Friends Factory patterns. 😭

We had some super cute memory bears this month!

Wendy Lewis sewed this Melody Memory Bear Pattern and it was her first Funky Friends Factory teddy bear! Great job!

Look how cute is this cute Melody Memory Bear Pattern sewn by Debbie Burton out of a waffle blanket! Lots of people find interesting blankets and use the fabric to make Funky Friends.

Sue Stonehouse sewed this Melody Memory Bear Pattern out of a chunky jumper. Using a sweater isn’t a beginner project, but it can be done if you line the knitted material with a matching color of quilting cotton and zig-zag stitch the edges of the pieces.

I love this keepsake version of Melody Memory Bear Pattern sewn by  Carol Young in memory of a grandma. I love the addition of the special scarf!

This Melody Memory Bear Pattern was sewn by Claire Bateman. It was made from a 3 yr-old’s dress, as shown by the number three on the foot.

This Keep Me Keepsake Bear pattern was sewn by Bernadette Walsh from some very cute baby clothes. This pattern was designed to have lots of places to show off cute details from clothing.

This Buttons the BEST DRESSED Bear was sewn by Andrea Wilkinson. He looks quite dressy in plaid and pinstripes. The pattern pieces have directional marks for stripes so you make sure clothing stripes are going the correct direction.

This Buttons BEST DRESSED Bear was sewn by Laura Jayne Dixon. The border collies on the shirt fabric have a special meaning. You can use a real shirt with a collar for this bear or use other fabric with the included pattern pieces for a collar, cuffs, and bow tie.

This Ben BEGINNER teddy bear was sewn by Sarah Carrick as a memory bear for a teenage girl who had recently lost her father.

This Ben BEGINNER teddy bear was sewn by Judy Blankenship Eaton. It is a special memory bear that she sewed for her nephew and his wife. It was the first bear Judy has sewn in faux fur fabric and I can see why she says she is really pleased with the way it turned out!

This Ben BEGINNER teddy bear was sewn by Sandra Fordham. The ladybug on the tummy is an Iron-on patch. Those are a great way to add a large design to a tummy area.

This Ben BEGINNER teddy bear was sewn by Andrea Wilkinson. The tummy fabric paired with grey makes an elegant bear.

This Ben BEGINNER teddy bear was sewn by Annette Van Horn. If you look closely you can see how she has used “fussy cutting” to place the mice perfectly on each ear, paw pad and in the centre of the large single tummy piece!

Annette Van Horn also sewed this Ben BEGINNER teddy bear and I couldn’t choose a favourite so I included both her bears!
