If you’re looking to sew a softie as a gift – you can’t go wrong with a dog pattern!

Everyone loves a cute stuffed doggy, NOT just kids (as you’ll see from the feedback photos in this post!) Dog toy patterns are fantastic for using your stash of dog prints, beautiful batiks and not to mention faux fur or any textured fabric! AND you don’t need to stick to doggy shades – you can use any colour you like for a plush puppy!

Funky Friends Factory has 7 dog patterns for you to enjoy!

There’s Kip the KEEPSAKE DOG pattern, Digger & Dixie Dachshund pattern, Butch Bulldog pattern, Puppy Dog Pete pattern, Poppy Puppy pattern, Lucky the Labrador pattern, and the Kawaii Kuties Dog pattern.

BUT which
Dog Pattern
is right for YOU?

This post has all the info you’ll need to help you decide which Dog Pattern is the best for plush toys, memory toys, keepsakes & beginners! Bookmark this post in your browser because you’ll want to visit this page a lot!😄

OK, Let’s take a look at ALL the dog toy patterns…

1. Kip the KEEPSDAKE DOG Pattern

This playful pup with his floppy ears and adorable puppy-dog tail, is a perfect pattern for sewing a child’s best friend. He is an unjointed ‘sitting toy’ designed for memory toys, decor or playtime. He has floppy , “easy arms” which are sewn into the seams plus his nose can be sewn by machine or hand (or even glued on!).

This is the BEST Dog pattern for keepsakes made from baby clothes. ALSO great for embroidery machine owners, those wanting to perfectly center fabric designs, and pet memorials.

What Size is the Keepsake Dog toy pattern?

The Keepsake Dog toy finished size: 31cm (12inches) from table to top of head! He has “fixed” legs, so he stays in a seated position. Here is a pic of me with 3x Kip the KEEPSAKE DOGs – so you can see the size!

Are you are looking for a dog pattern that is the SAME SIZE as Melody Memory Bear of Ben the Beginner Bear?

Kip the KEEPSAKE DOG Pattern is the pattern for you! This is great if you are sewing keepsakes to sell and a customer orders different toys for the same order! Kip is the same height as Melody Memory Bear Pattern and Ben the Beginner Bear

YES! I have created a step-by-step photo tutorial so you can see EXACTLY how to sew Kip the KEEPSAKE DOG Pattern – with lots of clever toy making tips and tricks! As usual, you can access the tutorial using the link in the See-Me-Sew section of the pattern.

Butch the Bulldog is a popular gift for adults, and especially those with sports or military affiliations with a bulldog mascot. He looks especially cute in plaid!
